What is a Human Environment?
Every one of us creates one.
Whether we realise it or not, every conversation we have, every family we belong to, every workplace we enter and every community we become part of contributes to the
human environment we experience.
The question is not whether we create one.
The question is....
What kind of human environment are we creating?
A Human Environment is the emotional, psychological and social atmosphere that people create together.
It influences our sense of belonging, how safe we feel,
how clearly we think, how willingly we contribute and, ultimately, whether we simply survive or genuinely flourish.
Why does a
Human Environment matter?
Every family, school, workplace, organisation and community creates a Human Environment.
It influences how people connect, communicate, learn, lead, solve problems and respond to change.
When a Human Environment is intentionally created,
people are more likely to flourish personally, socially and organisationally
So what creates a
Human Environment?
A Human Environment is created through hundreds of everyday interactions, decisions and experiences.
Every conversation, every action and every response either strengthens or weakens the environment people experience.
The Building Blocks of a Human Environment
No single action creates a Human Environment. It is the combination of many different elements working together that shapes how people think, feel, behave and perform.
Over more than thirty years of working with individuals, families, schools and organisations,
I have identified a number of core building blocks that consistently shape the
Human Environment people experience.
